ABOUT
THE AUTHOR
Born in Paradise, Missouri in a sod house on a site since covered by the water in the Trimble Wildlife Preserve, John Edward Hicks went to school in Excelsior Springs and Kansas City. He started work in the printing trade at age nine, delivering type to local primers. In 1918 he opened his own publishing company to publish a trade journal for the printer journeymen. For twenty-six years Mr. Hicks worked at the Kansas City Star. He was an avid reader and his thirst for knowledge was unquenchable. He was in love with the great events of the old west. Mr. Hicks passed away in December, 1971. Recently discovered additional manuscripts are being published in his memory TO ORDER: send your check or money order to: Indian Creek BOOKS
